Refund & Cancellation Policy

Rise And Reform Research Sansthan Rayla, (R4S), (“R4S”, “we”, “us”, “our” or “the Organization”) is a non-profit organization committed to transparency and accountability in the utilization of donations and other funds received for its charitable and social development activities.

This Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to donations, contributions and other eligible payments made to R4S through its website or other authorized payment channels.

1. Donations are Generally Non-Refundable

All donations made voluntarily to R4S are generally non-refundable, as funds received may be allocated, utilized or committed towards the Organization’s charitable objectives, programmes, projects, beneficiary support, operational requirements and other permitted activities.

However, R4S may consider a refund request in exceptional circumstances in accordance with this Policy and applicable laws and regulations.

2. Circumstances Eligible for Refund Consideration

A refund request may be considered in circumstances including:

• A duplicate donation or payment;

• An incorrect amount transferred due to a genuine error;

• An unauthorized transaction, subject to appropriate verification;

• A technical or payment gateway error resulting in an unintended transaction; or

• Any other circumstance where a refund is required under applicable law or regulatory requirements.

Submission of a refund request does not automatically guarantee approval. Each request will be reviewed individually.

3. How to Request a Refund

A donor or payer seeking a refund should contact R4S as soon as reasonably possible, preferably within 15-30 days from the date of the transaction.

The refund request should include:

• Full name of the donor/payer;

• Donation or payment amount;

• Date of transaction;

• Transaction ID, UTR or reference number;

• Mode of payment;

• Reason for requesting the refund; and

• Payment receipt, screenshot or other supporting evidence, where available.

R4S may request additional information or documents where reasonably necessary to verify the transaction and refund request.

4. Refund Approval and Processing

All refund requests are subject to verification and approval by R4S.

Where a refund is approved, R4S will ordinarily endeavour to return the eligible amount through the original payment method or originating bank account, wherever reasonably practicable and legally permissible.

The actual time required for the refunded amount to appear in the donor’s account may vary depending on the bank, UPI service provider, card network, payment gateway or other financial institution.

5. Failed or Duplicate Transactions

If an amount is debited from a donor’s account but the transaction is shown as failed, pending or unsuccessful, the donor should first verify the transaction status with their bank or payment service provider.

Where R4S has actually received the amount, the Organization will verify the transaction and take appropriate action in accordance with this Policy and applicable payment-provider procedures.

R4S shall not be responsible for delays solely attributable to banks, payment gateways, UPI service providers, card networks or other third-party financial institutions.

6. Donations and Income Tax Benefits

Where applicable, donations eligible for tax deduction under Section 80G of the Income-tax Act, 1961 will be handled in accordance with applicable income-tax laws, rules and reporting requirements.

Where a donation receipt, tax certificate, Form 10BE or other acknowledgement has been issued and the corresponding donation is subsequently refunded, R4S may cancel, revise or make necessary corrections to the relevant donation records, certificates and statutory filings as required under applicable law.

A donor should not claim or retain any tax benefit in respect of a donation amount that has been refunded.

Donors are advised to ensure that donations intended for tax deduction are made through eligible modes of payment in accordance with applicable income-tax provisions.

7. Foreign Contributions

Any donation or contribution received from a foreign source shall be dealt with strictly in accordance with the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010 (FCRA), applicable rules, government directions and the Organization’s applicable registration or permissions.

Any refund involving a foreign contribution shall be processed only after considering applicable FCRA requirements, banking procedures and other regulatory obligations.

Nothing contained in this Policy shall be interpreted as permitting the receipt, utilization or refund of any foreign contribution contrary to applicable law.

8. Programme, Training, Event or Registration Fees

Where R4S collects a fee for a programme, training, workshop, event, membership, registration or other activity, any specific cancellation and refund conditions communicated for that particular activity shall apply.

Where no separate refund conditions have been specified, R4S may consider a refund request after taking into account:

• Whether the programme or activity has commenced;

• Expenses already incurred;

• Commitments already made;

• Services or benefits already provided; and

• Applicable legal or regulatory requirements.

9. Cancellation by R4S

If a paid programme, training, workshop, event or other activity is cancelled by R4S, the Organization may provide an alternative date, programme or other suitable arrangement.

Where an appropriate alternative cannot be provided, an eligible refund may be processed depending on the circumstances and applicable terms.

This provision does not automatically apply to voluntary charitable donations.

10. Donations Already Utilized or Committed

A voluntary donation may ordinarily not be refunded merely because a donor subsequently changes their mind, particularly where the donation has already been utilized, allocated or committed towards a charitable programme, project, beneficiary support or other permitted organizational purpose.

This provision does not restrict any rights available under applicable law in relation to duplicate, erroneous, unauthorized or otherwise refundable transactions.

11. Tax and Accounting Adjustments

Where a refund is approved after a donation receipt, certificate or statutory report has already been issued or filed, R4S may make appropriate accounting, tax and regulatory corrections or revisions as required under applicable law.

The donor may also be requested to return, disregard or refrain from using any receipt or tax certificate relating to the refunded amount.

12. Payment Gateway and Banking Charges

Any payment gateway, banking or transaction charges associated with a refund shall be dealt with in accordance with applicable law and the terms of the relevant payment service provider.

R4S will not make arbitrary deductions from an approved refund.

13. Fraudulent or Suspicious Transactions

R4S reserves the right to temporarily withhold the processing of a refund where a transaction requires verification due to suspected fraud, unauthorized use, misuse or other unlawful activity.

Where required by law, R4S may cooperate with banks, payment service providers, regulatory authorities, government agencies or law-enforcement authorities in relation to such transactions.

14. Changes to this Policy

R4S reserves the right to amend or update this Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time to reflect changes in applicable laws, regulatory requirements, payment systems or organizational procedures.

Any revised Policy will become effective upon publication on the Organization’s website unless otherwise specified.
